Faith Comes By Hearing is Hiring an Event Coordinator Near Albuquerque, NM

Faith Comes By Hearing (FCBH) has a full-time position available for an Event Coordinator. The Ministry Event Coordinator is a pivotal role responsible for orchestrating, coordinating and executing Faith Comes By Hearing’s donor fundraising events for the purposes of increasing ministry awareness, deepening donor engagement, acquiring new donors and raising funds for overall ministry financial need. Donor relations is also a key component of this position. In addition, this position will coordinate other special events, meetings, and gatherings, including but not limited to, morning meetings, off-site meetings, ministry tours for individuals and groups.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with the manager to understand the overall program strategy for each event to be able to organize, coordinate, and implement specific requirements to achieve successful events.
  • Work closely with all members of the Donor Engagement team to develop a thorough understanding of donor relations and the role it plays in the success of events.
  • Coordinate events with attention to financial and time constraints.
  • Oversee on-site production, performing final checks to ensure that everything meets standards, troubleshooting any problems and acting quickly to identify solutions to resolve problems.
  • Develop timelines for events and coordinate details with appropriate departments and teams.
  • Identify and research venues and vendors (catering, musicians, audio visual services, etc.,) negotiating the best combination of quality and cost and the most favorable terms, and organizing the data resulting in a recommendation to the manager. In addition, serve as liaison with venues and vendors.
  • Book venues, make selections for food and beverage and determine sleeping accommodations for staff and guests.
  • Determine audio visual/technical needs and arrange for audio visual services.
  • Coordinate and implement all event operations (venue, décor, printed materials, supplies, audio visual/technical, marketing communications, seating arrangements, post-event follow up) with appropriate departments and teams.
  • Coordinate working groups related to donor engagement events, as needed, while actively participating in meetings and doing all follow-up to keep participants informed of event details, action items and deadlines.
  • Track event expenses including invoicing and check requests.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements with the Travel Department.
  • Perform errands as needed, which may include shopping for donor gifts using good stewardship principles.
  • Perform other marketing communication duties, as requested.

Qualifications include:

  • 2-3 years of work-related experience in non-profit arena in areas of donor engagement, hospitality and/or public relations.
  • Outstanding communications and interpersonal skills, both in person and by phone, with high professionalism.
  • Well organized with multi-tasking skills and ability to anticipate project needs, discern work priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Provide outstanding customer service and build relationships with internal and external contacts.
  • Strong team player but also works well independently.
  • Able to handle stress and remain calm with problem-solving ability.
  • Able to travel and work occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and experience in Customer Relationship Management systems.
